#vaseline VoxBox from Influenster

Recently I was given my first opportunity to receive and review the contents of a VoxBox. I was chosen for the Vaseline voxbox, and I tell you, it could NOT have come at a better time. With fall in full swing, the wind is whistling, the air is dry, and my skin is even drier! I am plagued with skin problems anyways, and keeping my hands hydrated has always been a challenge. I have tried your typical lotions (store brand) that you can get just about anywhere. But they are so full of water that they do very little hydrating for my skin. I have even gone so far as to get the really expensive store brand ones that mimic the popular brand Eucerin (you see, I still got the store brand, just the really expensive version of the store brand). Those always leave my hands feeling super greasy, and it just doesn't feel like the lotion is absorbing into my skin (feels like more of a protectant, a barrier if you will against dry skin). So, this box came at the perfect time. And boy did I have my doubts.

So, here's what I got:

There was a bottle of Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair, and some dryness indicator strips.

The strip on the right is day 1 before using the lotion. The tab on the left is the strip from today, I haven't used any of the lotion in the past 24 hours. There was a remarkable difference between to the two, and also a huge difference in my skin. On day one, prior to use, my skin was white/dry/cracked/painful. That's typical for me during the fall and winter. And today, the pain is all gone, the dryness and cracking is a thing of the past. I still have a tiny bit of dryness in the webs of my hands, but it is very minimal and is not painful or cracking at all. I don't think I'll ever get that part of my hands to be fully hydrated.

My favorite thing about this lotion is that it is not scented. With my touchy skin, sometimes those scents can really be a bother. There are some companies that things that scent-free means it needs to smell terrible, and with this lotion, this is not the case. It is a very plain scent, nothing that is bothersome to the nose at all. The micro droplets of vaseline are not visible (like you see with some facial and body washes these days), but you can definitely feel the touch of vaseline in the lotion. This lotion absorbs quickly, and doesn't leave a greasy feel, yet moisturizes better than the Eucerine knock-off lotion I was using before (similar formula to eucerine, but cheaper). Overall I'm quite pleased with this lotion. I give it a full five stars. I definitely recommend it to anybody who has dry skin that your typical lotion cannot remedy.

'Til next time,

-Sue

I received this product for free from Influenster (and Vaseline) in exchange for my review. Regardless, the thoughts within this review are 100% my own!
