Folgers Flavor Enhancers

I received these Folger's Flavor Enhancers for free from Crowdtap in exchange for my review. There were 4 flavors: caramel, hazelnut, vanilla, and mocha.

So, for the first taste, I put some Hazelnut in a cup of coffee. Smells great.

But something went terribly wrong, it tasted pretty bad. I think I put too much in. So I dump it out, make some more, and try again. The second taste was a bit better, but still not impressive.

I also tried it in an iced coffee. I took some sweetened condensed milk and some left over coffee, and added a little squirt of vanilla. This wasn't too bad, but again, not great.

Unfortunately, after trying all of the flavors, and several combinations of flavors, I just couldn't fall in love with this product. There was a chemically flavor to all of them, and the mocha even had a florally note, which is something I don't particularly care for in my coffee, or anything else for that matter. I'm not sure if it was the sucralose that is used to "sweeten" the product, or if it is the choice of flavorings used to create the enhancers. Regardless, although I found these products to be OK, I don't believe we will be purchasing them in the future.

-------------------------
Pros:
Easy to find
Costs less than $4 and flavors 24 cups of coffee
Calorie-free
Small enough to carry with you

Cons:
Uses sucralose to "sweeten" the enhancer
Isn't sweet, need to add sugar (but willing to overlook this)
Tastes chemically (again, not sure if it's from the sucralose or the choice of flavorings in the mix)

'Til next time,

-Sue
